Dynamic codes

A dynamic code holds a short link, such as qrme.to/abc123. When someone scans it, qrme.to opens the content you chose: a website, a menu, a contact card or another page.

  • You can change what it opens at any time, even after printing.
  • Its scans are counted and shown on the code's page.
  • Access rules apply: start and end dates, a pause, allowed countries, a daily limit and a password.
  • It needs qrme.to to be reachable when it is scanned.

Static codes

A static code holds its content itself, such as Wi-Fi details, a contact card or a short text. The phone reads it without going online.

  • It works without an internet connection and without qrme.to.
  • Its content cannot change after printing: to change it, download the code again and reprint it.
  • Static codes open their content directly on the phone, so their scans cannot be counted.
  • Access rules do not apply to it.

Which to choose

Choose dynamic for anything printed that might change or whose use you want to measure: menus, posters, packaging, business cards. Choose static for content that never changes and must work offline, such as Wi-Fi access.

Some types are only dynamic or only static; the list of types says which.
