QR code test sheet
One page with your code at several sizes. Print it, scan it from where the customer stands, and choose the size before you print the whole run.
How to use it
- Make your code on the home page, with its final content and design.
- Open the preview and press “Test sheet (PDF)” under the download buttons.
- Print the page on A4 paper at actual size (100%), not “fit to page”, or the sizes change.
- Scan each size from where the customer will stand, with more than one phone.
- Choose the smallest size that read at the first try, then take the next one up to be safe.
What is on the sheet
Your own code, with its design, colours and logo, drawn as a PDF file draws it, at these sizes:
20 mm30 mm50 mm100 mm
Each has its width written under it, so that you know which size you are scanning.
Why a printed sheet
A code on a screen is always bright and sharp. On paper the ink, the paper and its gloss, and the light in the shop come in, and those are known only by trying. The size calculator gives you a number to start from, and the sheet confirms it.
Questions about the test sheet
Is an office printer enough?
For a first try, yes. For a large run or a special material, glossy stickers or packaging for example, ask the printer for a proof on the material itself.
My code is kept in my account. How do I test its size?
From the code's page in your account, download a PDF at the size you want to try, and print it. The test sheet is made on the home page.
Every size was read. Which do I choose?
The smallest is enough if the customer scans from close by, as with a code on a table. If it will be scanned from afar, try from that distance, not from arm's length.
