Wi-Fi QR code
Type the network's name and its password. Your guest scans the code and is connected, without typing a thing.
How it works
- Type the network's name exactly as a phone shows it, capital and small letters included.
- Choose the kind of security and type the password. If the network is hidden, tick that.
- Download the code and print it. A guest points the phone's camera at it and taps “Join”.
Where it is used
- On the tables of a café or a restaurant, instead of every guest asking for the password.
- In the waiting room of a clinic or a salon.
- In a furnished flat or a holiday house, by the door.
- In an office, for the visitors' network.
What to know before printing
A Wi-Fi code is always static: the name and the password are in the pattern, and a phone reads it alone, without the internet and without passing through us. So a new password means a new code and a new print.
Anybody who scans the code can read the password. Make it for the guests' network, not for the one your tills and devices are on.
Questions about a Wi-Fi QR code
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The camera of recent phones of both kinds reads it and offers to join the network, without an app.
I scanned it and it did not connect. Why?
Mostly one of three things: the network's name is not typed exactly, the kind of security chosen is not the network's, or the password changed after printing.
Do you keep the password?
No. A code made on this page is drawn for you and not stored. Privacy notice
What size should I print?
A Wi-Fi code holds more than a short link's code, so its squares are smaller. Work out the size from the distance it will be scanned from.
